Summer's here!
️ While it's a time for fun, managing a chronic illness in the heat can be tough as we all know. Here are 7 essential tips to help this season:

Beat the Heat Smartly: Plan outdoor activities for cooler times, seek shade, and keep cooling towels or portable fans handy. Don't be afraid to embrace AC! T
-
Dress for Success: Opt for light, breathable fabrics in light colors. Don't forget your SPF 30+ sunscreen, a wide-brimmed hat, and sunglasses for ultimate sun protection.
-
Pace Your Activities: Listen to your body! Modify workouts to indoor options like swimming or gentle yoga, and schedule plenty of rest periods.
-
Know Your Meds: Talk to your doctor about how summer heat might affect your medications and any necessary adjustments. Always store temperature-sensitive meds properly!
-
Monitor & Connect: Keep a close eye on your symptoms and know the signs of heat-related illness. Don't hesitate to reach out to friends, family, or your doctor if you need support.
Prioritize Overall Well-being: Stick to a healthy diet, ensure quality sleep, and carve out time for self-care. Check air quality reports, too!

Some tips I have for this is wearing thin clothing, light colors attract less heat.
The reusable cooling towels are wonderful. They have the spray bottles with a fan attached to mist spray water on you- those work great!
Blood pooling can be more of a problem in the heat, so always make sure to keep an eye on your feet/ankles to keep them from swelling!
